Pros

good name on resume
good site
awesome boss - people manager who encourages my career development
awesome department - Image and Printing Group they really want their employees to advance
Site closure whole week of Christmas to New Years
Good benefits and perks like week of daycare, concierge service, employee purchase plans for HP products and loads of other companies including cars

Cons

If you are not in a good department with a good manager it can be horrible. I hear sales is dreadful. The IT department is segerated to each division so it is hard to get a full view of IT. Typical big company politics.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

HP underpays compared to Austin Market to keep top talent the salary increase must be large and happen soon or others will leave as the economy improves

    Pros

    If all you care about is short term pay, they're competitive

    Cons

    No respect for employees
    Very political
    Very bureacratic
    Executive leaders with no integrity
    Executives with NO interpersonal leadership skills
    They tout great career opportunities due to their size, but do little to really provide that chance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take actions to restore the culture Dave and Bill created, I.e. high performing company THATvalues it's employees. Dave and Bill believed that both employees and customers drive HPs success. Currently employees are treated like dispensable assets.

    Retirement Plan is not as attractive as competitors.

    I would like to see either the 401K contribution match increased by HP and/or a pension plan be made available.
