Pros

- Some of the best people in the industry
- Amazing opportunities for growth if you deserve it
- Great challenges
- Continuous learning
- Never a dull moment

Cons

- Salary increase never match responsibility increase if you are a top talent and are growing fast
- Poor work-life balance

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mark Hurd badly impacted HP Values and people morale but HP has got amazing people who kept on performing through salary cuts and CEO scandals. So my most sincere good luck to Meg and her leadership team to bring back some of the HP way

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard

    Pros

Senior management tries its best to be open with the employees about successes and issues. There's also focus on improving work-life balance and encouraging employees to explore their interests outside of work eg. photographers, musicians, film makers, keeping healthy.

Senior management also values training but doesn't always give you time to get trained.

    Cons

The organization is growing so fast that sometimes senior management fails to take care of its older & more experienced employees. So what happens is the new employees get taken care of but the older ones don't and the older employees leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't stretch out people too thin or they will burnout. Also, hire better middle management because some of the current managers (newly promoted) are still adjusting and don't always know what they're doing.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard

    Pros

HP has one of the best industrial research labs. It has great relations with their customers/partners which are usually big companies too, which is a great advantage.

    Cons

The working pace is not as fast as smaller and younger companies. There are more steps and processes for work you are doing to get into real impact of the products.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

the higher level leadership of HP and the labs should design more mechanisms to promote innovations and faster iterations of product impact.
