great culture, slow or no carreer progression

Open door policy
Little politics
Fairness in performance reviews
Friendly atmosphere
International exposure
Great possibilities for lateral movements
Other than Workforce Reduction programs, job safety is high

ConsSlow career progression, or no progression at all.
Manager and directors don't move up too often, nor do they leave the company. Senior individual contributors seeking management positions keep "hitting the ceiling", and eventually leave the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind and fire the ones leaking strategic decisions to the press
In the next reorgs, prioritize compulsory retirement programs over workforce reduction, lo open room for senior Individual Contributors to become fresh, high motivated managers
Somehow increase uopwards mobility

    A bumpy ride

    Pros: Virtual work environment allows for a bit more work/life balance. Cons: Senior management churn, but improving under Meg Whitman. Advice to Senior Management: HP needs to align on it's strategic imperative, and execute… More
