I have been working at Hewlett-Packard

Pros – Showing definite signs and intents to change company strategy
Interesting acquisitions to augment its overall value to the customer base

Cons – Translation of strategy to execution is marred by years of bureaucracy and a management structure that is not empowered to make local decisions at any level/geo until you climb several layers up!
Value proposition is still strongly tied to CIO and below - how then can HP think it's competing with IBM? lack of vertical solutions, expertise and investments really limits the potential of growing HP footprint

Advice to Senior Management – Flatten the management structure and empower not only middle-management but all employees
Take a global view not just a US-centric view as business now operates in a highly globalized context so why not reflected investments and actions in lesser mature Asia markets accordingly if the rest of the business world is targeting this region?
