(3PAR division) constant fire fighting mode, management / project mgmt by bugzilla"

Software Engineer (Former Employee)
Fremont, CA

I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time

Pros- Cool , smart engineers
- learn about storage arrays

Cons- The array is pretty much developed, not much new innovation or development work (software wise), mostly bug fixing.
- Management mostly rewards old timers
- Currently the place is crawling with program managers, and over the past year has become very management heavy.
- First level managers does not motivate people, or get to know them on a personal level to know their individual contribution / strengths / weakness.
- Very hard to get promotion past the senior engineer level.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet to know your employees, on a personal level, know their strengths , weakness, and how to make best use of them.
