I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time for less than a year

Pros

HP has a long legacy of products and services
Plenty of training to be taken to help you with your Job

Cons

Constant pressure from senior management
You will always be threatened with your Job starting as soon as 2 months
Businesses are very siloed and the units do not work together to win business
No one can tell you where to go for help. In most cases you have to call between 5-7 people

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The best way to sum this up is a website was created so people could submit trouble areas to the management team. It was suppose to remain open for 30 days after 5 days and 83,000 submissions the site was shut down.

I worked at Hewlett-Packard as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

-HP provides internal training for employees and does not expect you to take time outside of work to do so. Even if you work many extra hours or on weekends, management compensates you with extra vacation days for your time
-The majority of people who work there are very nice and friendly. The managers are fair and good about giving feedback.
-Most managers are flexible, which allows you to set your own time schedule as long as you get your work done and attend meetings on time.
-The work environment and company culture is pretty relaxed and easygoing. There are no strict rules regarding work attire.
-Since HP is so large, there are a lot of organizations and committees you can join in order to meet people. They also host many social events for both young professionals and for those with families.
-Benefits are good compared to other companies. Having a gym onsite is also nice since you can work out straight after work or during lunch.

    Cons

-It's hard to see overall impact of your work since the organization is so large.
-The salaries are quite low relative to other large corporations in this industry.
-There are no assigned desks or cubicles. You have to get there early in order to sit in a nice area or someone might take your spot.
