Current Employee – been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – HP has been a great place to work at for many years, good people, market leader in printing, and sometimes great and challenging projects.
Cons – While the theory was to hire cheap engineering off-shore to do the mundane, run-of-the-mill tasks for each release while the engineering in the states was then free to innovate -- I don't think it has worked that way in practice. It seems the off-shore people would rather innovate. Meanwhile market share is shrinking, wages stagnate while CEO's come and go with huge salaries and golden parachutes.
Advice to Senior Management – The new CEO, seems to be making the right noises, but is it just talk?
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
