    Pros

    Green shoots of a turn around in the culture back to the HP principles of management light, nimble approach and personal innovation of the pre EDS days. Mainly spearheaded by the excellent Meg. It has a real emphasis on giving employees real freedom of where and when they work. The ideas and approach are all fresh and relatively innovative in the market place and there is a real foundation of excellent and talented professionals who are beginning to win through the processes and management layers.

    Cons

    Since the EDS acquisition layers of inept careerist managers have crept in. Their agendas are only half hidden but ultimately stifle innovative and nimble approaches in favour of managing the spreadsheet and making success by ppt the key. The turn around might be announced and the agenda the right one, but it will take a huge effort to wipe out the EDS culture which has all but stifled the more 'get up and go' HP culture and it is a massive wall to climb and a mjor effort for those who may want to.

    Advice to Management

    Sack any person wielding a spreadsheet, so at least two layers of managers and their matrix nightmare. Make delivery in services build the innovative go to market solutions, not careerist managers. Spend a huge amount of time and effort eradicating any EDS culture, it lost EDS money, it is losing HP money and it will destroy innovation. Meg will do this and is chairing the 'death of EDS' board which was recently announced with different terminology. she needs to be followed.
