    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

I submit that the people who work for Hewlett Packard are some of the best people in any industry. Ethical, hardworking, loyal and adaptable.

    Cons

Cost saving, head cutting became so drastic that some employees are being overworked, no or limited bonuses, harsh and adversarial managerial practices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The idea that you can ask for the impossible and get the possible works well when you don't hold your employees to the metric of the impossible.

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

HP offers great environment for learning from peers: age varies greatly and veterson seasonality also ranges.

    Cons

No mentorship for advancement. Management to employees is terrible--all about setting expectations with investors at the cost of employee moral.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need new change of management at director and manager levels. What use are VOWs if reports favor what exec management wants to hear year-after-year? Poor directors and managers are rewarded by hard efforts of direct reports and no credit of their own.
