    I worked at Hewlett-Packard

    Pros

The former culture was collaborative and supportive

    Cons

The new culture is demanding without acknowledgement of the hard work contributed by the masses, just the few. More a good old boys network culture now than ever in the entire history of the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Only rewarding the few at the top of the ladder will eventually erode the base which could cause the whole company to falter. You don't want to peanut butter rewards, but you can't ignore the masses. If they only experience take aways, they will not put out for very long. You can't grow, build and develop if you have constant churn in your masses. Institutional knowledge does have value in the long run. You can survive for some time without, but unless you're a young and limber company with narrow geographic presence, ultimately, churn will burn
