Pros

Big name company identity. Grandparents know who I work for.

Cons

lack of clear vision. cogs in wheels. pride themselves in paying 75% of competitive salaries. IT and cost cutting rules, to the detriment of logic, efficiency, and positive forward momentum. Poor work/life balance if you are someone who wants to move fast. You have to pull a LOT of dead weight around.

Advice to Management

Focus on real innovation. Cut the crap and bureaucratic overhead. Aggressively remove dead weight (mostly management).

    Pros

    growth opportunities
    great teams and people
    good benefits

    Cons

    senior leadership are only interested in politics
    some leaders are some of the worst I have ever met
    too much change
    reactive management, strategic in hp usually means 1 quarter or less if the problem doesn't go away.

    Advice to Management

    stop getting rid of people who did the work. take a look at some of the vp's and directors first.
    start focussing on reward and recognition.
    stop the politics and do some work for the company instead if your own pockets

    Pros

    Culture changed as company became more international teaching how to act with global counterparts effectively, a very useful skill. A differnet skill is needed to get things done outside of this country as there is a less willingness to take on responsibilty. Motivational factors include mentoring and coaching.

    Cons

    Work hours are longer. Working after hours, weekends and holidays.

    Advice to Management

    Try to reduce or balance workload so that there is more time to unwind.
