Great company but grow some thick skin

Former Employee - Customer Service in Boise, ID
Former Employee - Customer Service in Boise, ID

I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (More than a year)

Pros

great pay, great benefits, flexible hours

Cons

There is a new Customer Service policy every 2 months. Managers have no problem calling you on attendance, yet they are constantly unavailable.

Advice to Management

Listen to your employees more. W@H managers don't hide behind Unavailable in the chat rooms.

    Pros

Big name company identity. Grandparents know who I work for.

    Cons

lack of clear vision. cogs in wheels. pride themselves in paying 75% of competitive salaries. IT and cost cutting rules, to the detriment of logic, efficiency, and positive forward momentum. Poor work/life balance if you are someone who wants to move fast. You have to pull a LOT of dead weight around.

    Advice to Management

Focus on real innovation. Cut the crap and bureaucratic overhead. Aggressively remove dead weight (mostly management).
