I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Access to each customer and C-level due to cross-business , hardware , software , network ,services , printers . It is beneficial when you are with Sales
    - Good balance work/life
    - Benefits as salary & bonuses might be good if you are acquired by HP being with another company . Otherwise you need to raise your Job Level to the highest grade which takes half a life

    Cons

    - CEO has changed 5 times in the past 10 years . Company is not clear on its strategy is it Hardware ? Services ? Software . And if Hardware is the core what is the strategy to sustain acceptable margins and satisfy shareholders even on mid term run ?
    - To much overhead in matrix organization region managers with their teams , country managers with their teams across all Business Units . To "many chiefs" and too little "workers" who may do the difference
    - Majority of HP acquisitions or new products were made without clear vision , accurate calculation , and to high expectations . Just to mention : Palm OS ( becomes open source ) ; HP phone ; HP Tabled ; Autonomy ( paid 10 billion US dollar , while company annual revenue was 200 mln. US dollar) it results in to frequent lay -offs in the last 5 years

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Cut on middle management overhead to many region , country managers with huge teams where people have no clue what customers are doing , performing only "spreadsheets kong-fu"

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
