I am working here since October and until know I had the best training ever. All colleagues help you in your integration in the company.

    Pros

    Decent work life balance. Company name is still respected in a fair number of locations. Standard fringe benefit.

    Cons

    Clueless in strategy & tactical. Managements are full of vague jargons, but no clue how to translate it to actual specific measurable actions. It is very common to then seemingly empower the 'ground' to porpose solutions, but are crippled with so many constraints. It is as if we are asked to be able to read the mind of senior managements. Put it simply, it's like we are told that we are given a big rectangle to innovate, yet actually there's actually only a copule of invisible dots where we're expected to hit.

    Advice to Management

    Get truly competent people for a particular position. Do not just recruiting for the sake of meeting headcount targets. In an technical unit, run it like an engineering culture, not like sales or customer facing organization. It is allright for sales or folks who runs alot to occupy a flexi seat, but enginner ought to prefer perm seat. Do not be stingy with basic equipments, 23-inch monitors should be the norm for engineers, not forced to use a laptop only (14" or 13") for doing most of work. Honestly, even graduate students in universities get better basic equipments (monitor, desk space) than a multinational company like HP.
