Pros

- looks good on your resume, I suppose
- some very talented people work here
- could lead to something better when the job market opens up

Cons

- no stability
- leadership by blabbing
- Dilbert's world makes more sense than this place

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your heads out of dark places and find out what is happening down in the trenches. You rely on reports through the chain of command without any grasp of reality where business happens.

A company needing stability in leadership

Current Employee - Project Manager in Sacramento, CA

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible location/ work hours- most job positions are given the option of working remotely as long as the job is getting done. In a company of this size, opportunities for advancement or career changes come up more often.

    Cons

Previous leadership regimes cut research and development to the bone and tried to "buy" technology through acquisitions rather than by developing organically. As a result HP is behind the tech curve and now struggling to re-invent itself. Morale is improving but still quite low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come up with a growth strategy and stick to it. Avoid further acquisitions until all the recent buys have been fully assimilated and stabilized.
