    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

flexibility, Work from home, remote teams, good set up. Some of the old timers are good.

    Cons

No clue on application development. Poor managers. Too frequent executive changes. It has some of the worst Directors you can see in IT development. They are completely clueless on software development.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company needs to be re-built from scratch. All good people are leaving or have left.

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard as a contractor

    Pros

relaxed work atmosphere. helpful coworkers, flexible work times. Lots of opportunities to learn.

    Cons

What happened to the "hp way"? low morale among regular and "perma" temp employees. No chance for hard working temps to become regular employees, hence the term permatemps. Some regular employees treat temps as second class citizens.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward temps who work hard, with regular jobs. The increase in productivity (and morale) will likely outweigh the extra cost.

    No opinion of CEO
