I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Employees treated with respect, great pay and benefits, rewarding work, lots of pride in working with such talented people, fun/casual work environment

Cons

Workload can often be overwhelming, layoffs have made it necessary for remaining employees to take on more work than is possible to complete

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to be thinner with more employees doing actual work that produces products

    Pros

HP offers a very good salary and ideal work environment

    Cons

Lately HP is troubled with bad management, group politics and lack of appreciation and benefits for good work, while the pay is good the benefits and bonuses are negligible (if any)

Current Employee - Customer Support in Fort Collins, CO

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedules, work from home options and some career movement opportunities.

    Cons

CEO has the right idea, but there is no culture and management is just out for themselves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rebuild the HP culture. Hold managers accountable for employee development and success. Prioritize quality over speed. Seek out internal candidates and hire from within, only go outside with high level approval and in extremely rare cases.
