Former Employee - Applications Manager
Former Employee - Applications Manager

I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Huge potential to become a great IT services and outsourcing company, leveraging insitutional knowledge, especially from those employees from acquired companies with the experience

Cons

Runs too much like a product company, but much of this is now a commodity business. Not enough creativity and ability to be innovative.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Integrate the BU's much more so than they are today and develop strong motivators to significantly lift the inter-dynamics between the BU's

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    More learnings
    More opportunities to explore
    very good work life balance
    HP culture is really great
    friendly environment

    Cons

    Salary
    Slow growth
    very minimal salary hike

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Internal growth rate should be improved. Salary for the internal promotion should be relooked. For the same grade - a person groomed from within HP is paid less wherease a person who is new to the company is really paid double the pay. Why is this difference? Though he/she carries external expertise, the person groomed within the industry has more knowledge about the people, process and the customers. Dont you think equal importance/ benefits to be given to those who gets groomed here?
