Current Employee – been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Relatively good work-life balance
Salary is not too bad, but not market value
Excellent co-workers in general
Cons – No real open door policy in use
Middle managers really need some leadership training
Many senior managers only playing the politics game

Advice to Senior Management – The selction criteria for promoting managers to higher levels really needs looking at. More often, incompetent sociopaths are being promoted to even higher levels. The peter principle comes to mind. If HP started using assessment centres for manager hiring and promotion HP would really start to improve. With the continuing redundancies occuring things will not change if you dont make some of the management redundant!
