Pros

The people! There are numerous opportunities to learn at HP. There are also many products and technologies to choose. HP has great leadership programs. HP is typically supportive of you taking on new responsibilities, paying for training, and big on teamwork.

Cons

Much harder to move around within the company now. Less and less innovation, HP now relies heavily on outsourcing. The prime positions for advancement are shrinking. Instead a trend seems to be employees taking demotions just to keep their jobs. Due to the outsourcing, many roles are becoming generalist (not an especially good thing for one's career). Executive compensation remains strong while employee pay, benefits, and moral are shrinking.

Advice to Senior Management

Listen to the voice of the workforce results and actually hold your leadership team accountable for them. Your workforce is telling you where you are succeeding and failing.
