    Pros

HP is a big place with lots of options for career growth, but does require planning in advance and patience ...

    Cons

HP is a "big" company, with a big company mentality (bureaucracy, politics, lack of leadership etc)

    Pros

Flexible working arrangements, as long as you deliver results, you can work anywhere (but this also depends on the preference of your immediate boss). Well known brand name.

    Cons

HP is too big a company, so its very hard to move upwards or anywhere within the wider HP, unless you are a great networker. It helps if you join the company as a people manager. For individual contributors, we are treated much like work horses, with expanding portfolios of responsibilities (ie, lots of work, partly due to all the re-structuring and constant changes, so one's scope of work grows but without much focus, as one absorbs projects from people made redundant, ie, long hours with lots to do, but not satisfying work); no real recognition/voice, as they like creating layers of management, so with each re-org, one may drop a couple of layers lower & it becomes harder to be heard & recognized.

    Advice to Management

Don't change for the sake of changing and do not create so many layers of management - keep it simple so that we can be more agile. Continue to simplify the many processes within this big machine.
