I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

People are generally pleasant, the morale is not too bad. it's still a large tech company and a name everyone knows. It seems reasonably easy to get to a decent salary. It's possible to slide by without too much stress.

    Cons

The future doesn't look good. Inept management, not just at the top, but all the way through. There's a lot frustration over processes not working - a lot of things in the infrastructure really don't work very well. Very little opportunity for progress, either in career or pay. If you can get to another tech company, don't go with HP.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work out a decent business plan. Invest in fixing the things that are broken and do away with the stupid petty bureaucracies that are all over the place. It's not a place where innovation is encouraged.
