Pros

Big company provides many chances to try out new positions or work experiences. Flexible hours and work locations. New executives are turning the company in the right direction.

Cons

Bureaucratic when it comes to company wide strategy and direction. Past decade has been entirely metric driven, not people driven. Internal IT is often worried about running a clean project not getting the internal customer the needed result.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The swing you are making to engage the employee and restore a great workplace is great. Keep that ball rolling!

    Pros

    ability to work remotely
    good networking

    Cons

    too many management changes
    too much politics
    spend more time on internal BS rather than productive work
    does not pay enough at non-exec levels
    many execs that seemingly do nothing. move from group to group every 1-2 years, but screw up things in the process and then move on

    Pros

    Can't think of too many. Some managers 'might' allow you to work from home on occasion but that's about it.

    Cons

    Lots - raises don't happen often, bonuses are almost unheard of in many groups. Management likes to have all employees competing against each other rather than instilling team work and building real teams. Too much emphasis on metrics versus actually getting something done and done the right way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Open up, let the people who actually do the work - do the work. Reduce the amount of metrics and let innovation flow.
