HP will never again be the HP it once was but could be better than it is.

    Pros

An extensive and integrated teleworker program/capability Market scope provides opportunity for global work activities Good benefits in the form of insurance coverages and PTO The name still commands respect in certain markets and segments Tremendous opportunities for grow in SMB, medical, education, and mobile (cell)

    Cons

Senior leadership has no vision for the workers other than cut cost and work harder Is a very HW focused and product oriented company; customer is there to purchase The workplace culture lacks synergy and teams are disconnected from each other Non-HP workers are treated differently than those with HP legacy backgrounds A very difficult place to make changes that really matter to customers Hard to do business with HP is a common cry from customers in all segments

    Advice to Management

Truly listen to your customers and your workforce vs discounting what they tell you Choose 5 things to do exceptionally well vs trying to do everything poorly Bring your customer facing functions onshore in U.S. vs India, Latin America, etc. Turn your R&D function back on and let it roll vs trying to innovate on a schedule Preserve the skills and talents that you still have to preserve operational IP

  2. Once great company gone downhill.

    Pros

Still the largest technology company, great people and under the right leadership and circumstances could shine once more.

    Cons

HP has lost its vision and has aggressively competed and won to become a "me too" company.

    Advice to Management

Light some fire inside the bellies of employees and let them run free.
