I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible work arrangements, relatively casual environment, decent base salary. Company stance is they are open to lateral job rotations. Meg Whitman has been able to rally internal support behind her.

    Cons

Easy to get lost in a sea of so many employees. Lateral moves are good, but career advancement/opportunities for promotion seem less emphasized. Even a clear message from the top can sometimes get muddled by the time it reaches the lower ranks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be careful not to repeat past acquisition mistakes

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

It's a job with many challenges
Starting salary was acceptable (bought out from another company, no choice if you wanted a job)
    Worked from home
    Benefits were good (at first)
    company discounts
    Some training
    Stable work

    Cons

Very few salary increases, very small when received - once they reduced our salary
didn't matter if you received the highest ratings year over year.
Worked from home but was expected to work more, management called during off hours
    Benefits were dramatically reduced
    training WBT only
Didn't feel like an HP employee, not a company feeling

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
