I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great company, benefits and work environment! The digital press division is and was a fast growing market space to be in and I really enjoyed the people I worked with and the environment. Good work life balance, ability to work from home a couple days a week and good management.

Cons

Very large company and you can be affected by large lay offs at any time! If the business unit you are in is not doing well you have to keep your eyes open to opportunities in other parts of the business.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work and continue to make HP a great place to work and thrive!

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great leaders with wonderful people-care skills; talented workforce and great work with top clients.

    Cons

Quarterly numbers game required losing terrific talent and stressing the remaining employees' workloads

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think beyond the quarterly numbers game - leaders, especially executive leaders earn far too much to just rely on layoffs. Surely they can think of more creative ways to lead. If not, then their heads should be on the chopping block.
