Pros

I was working as Technical Support at HP in 2009 and I had a good experience there. It was a good experience with a well known company. I recommend this company to everyone who wants to work there.

    Pros

    Still plenty of job roles for a company of this scales and size. Still helping plenty of customers globally, but not any more special from most average firms.

    Cons

    Mix of people had changed drastically in favor of a very diverse mix from outside. As a result, there is no real culture and values, especially compared to the earlier days before Carly Fiorina came in and started the ball of change rolling. In other words, it lacks the fabric that rally its people to contribute their best even in adverse conditions. Over time it had become a who you know, hire-and-fire, type of firm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Bring back visionary and prominent ex-HPites, and involved the people who are close to the founders to rebuild the important social fabric for a great company. Great companies are not built by CEOs and their management team who is only interested in meeting stakeholder expectation, month-to-month and quarter-to-quarter.
