Pros

The latest management is working hard to correct the problems created by the previous short term focused management teams. Rational behavior is coming back and truely valuing the workforce is emerging. It is a large company that provides opportunities in a wide variety of areas and enables one to explore career opportunities in areas that are not necessarily the focus of one's education. It varies from manager to manager but generally teams pull together and work to make all the members successful.

Cons

High overhead decision making. Mid and lower management are not well empowered to make key decisions. There is a tendency to overestimate deliveries and underestimate time needed to complete them.

Advice to Management

Allow your middle management to make decisions again.

    Pros

    Opportunity to contribute to expanding business.

    Cons

    Movement is stagnant inside the company (Enterprise Services). Lateral transfer is best option.

    Advice to Management

    Trim the fat. Lazy workers are in it for the paycheck and don't look to improve anything.

    Pros

    The people. Great peers who are motivated to do well.

    Cons

    Low salaries. Hardly any perks to working there. Once HP aimed to be among the top 10% salary wise but now they seem to be among the lowest paying. Company seems to keep the bulk of the money for senior management.

    Advice to Management

    Reward the people and get rid of the quarterly based incentives for executives who tend to become short term focused.
