Pros

Great people to work with. Flexibility if you need it. It is nice to work with people from around the world to make HP a great company again.

Cons

Since working with HP the company has been in a downward trend. Not many raises, Bonuses have been cut, 401K cut, retirement cut, stock purchase plan cut, and vacation accumulation cut. Difficult to get promotions. Not easy to move to new positions to continue growth.

Advice to Management

Bring back the HP way. reward employees for doing a good job. Even when the company or division is not doing well there are employees who are working extremely hard for this company. It seems like there should be a better way of rating employee performance than the current process.

    Pros

Being a large company, you get a bunch of standard benefits. And you get to work with a wide variety of people on various projects.

    Cons

Promotions, hiring, and assignments are pretty haphazard. Lots of incapable people rise to the top, and the best talent gets lost in the shuffles. The result is like being on a rudderless ship.

    Advice to Management

Stop the waves of churn in management and direction. Try to get a few good people that can get the job done. There are too many SVPs, VPs, Directors, CTOs, etc.

Very flexible with schedule. Work in a global setting. Learn business practices.

    Cons

Work is slow. Working in a global setting. Not much responsibility given. Not trusted to do impactful work. There are several generation gaps with between interns and workforce. Phone meetings.

    Advice to Management

    Give more responsibility to employees.
