Pros

HP allows for a good work life balance. Maybe to much on the life.

Cons

HP engineering managers are not technical. This allows a lot of very bad ideas to be implemented. It is very sales focused company. The message being repeated constantly is we have to meet the quarter.

Advice to Management

At this time, I see lower level HP organizations attempting to push technologies into places where they do not necessarily fit. This is mainly due to a lack of a winning strategy at a high level. HP needs develop a strategy and then feed into the divisions what products and features they need to implement to meet that strategy. This is what Cisco does and this is why they are kicking HP's butt.

    Pros

Flexible hour and good work-life balance. The people are great. Insurance benefits are good.

    Cons

HP seems to have lost its values for treating employees well. Compensation, raises, and bonuses are not up to industry standard. HP struggles to retain and attract top talent because of this. Management is not organized and the company seems to be floundering overall.

    Advice to Management

Begin to innovate again and compensate employees well so HP can attract and retain top talent.

    Pros

Flexibility of work schedule (which may change as employees are being asked to go into the office)

    Cons

Management does not motivate employees to perform well

    Advice to Management

High performers at one time are no longer motivated to work as there is little to no recognition of work they are doing.
