I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Solid company, with smart, high-integrity employees. Meg Whitman is great - she is very smart and is doing the right things. Given time, Meg will get it right and turn HP around.

    Cons

Lack of growth makes the environment challenging. Not all businesses seem poised for a bright future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More autonomy in the business units. Less reviews.....we spend too much time preparing for internal reviews.

I did not land in the best situation, but there are always people that are willing to help at HP. You just have to ask.

I worked at Hewlett-Packard as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Lots of people who are willing to help that you can start building a network with from the start. It's very easy to move to a new role and find your fit in the company. Also, amazing compensation, even as an intern.

    Cons

You are placed in a small cube in a large office and may feel like a number at times. One person's experience can vary from the next. It completely depends on what team and role you fall into.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to provide new hires with 2+ mentors that can give them advice to help them go where they want within the company.
