Working at HP was very stressful. I was constantly worried about job security.

I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

HP offers great benefits (health, dental, vision, etc). They reduced their 401k match, but at least they do match some.

Cons

The manager was constantly threatening that my job would be sent overseas.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

When I started working there the company culture was awesome. Good benefits, great products, engaging technical projects and responsibilities and opportunities for movement and advancement. Great people, until forced lay-offs and retirement programs.

    Cons

Over 16 years, the company lost valuing employees, cut benefits, & froze (sometimes reduced) pay. What used to be profit-sharing became variable performance, which threw teamwork out the window for individual achievement. A series of bad CEO's and company scandals led to perpetual lay-offs. Lack of hiring over the last 15 years led to an older workforce that they want to eliminate because they cost too much. Acquisitions became the norm, and R&D is non-existent. For a while they didn't even want you coming to work, reduced space in the office, and site maintenance showed how the company has been struggling. I am certain H&P are rolling over in their graves.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You aren't making it in IT services. You've been trying to reinvent for years. Listen to the employees - if you have any left.
