Turnarounds are difficult

I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time

Pros

There are lots of bright people at HP. People are working hard to make changes for the long term growth of the company, but it can be difficult.

Cons

My experience is that when leadership positions become available, HP fills those positions from external candidates. I also was expected to work early mornings and late nights as part of a global team.

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard

    Pros

My management has been a pleasure to work with. All 4 different managers are good people, good at managing, and make great teams. Teamwork is a culture at HP and work thrives because of it.

    Cons

During the "poor economy" the pay freezes were quite a bummer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep getting agile, and techy and continue this new path to innovation. Meg Whitman is the best thing that has happened to HP. Their current and relevant again!

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Multifaceted technology platform, competitive industry, mature workforce.

    Cons

Too many and frequent changes in middle management.
Your work efforts and accomplishments do not permeate and hence are soon forgotten. You are always constantly proving yourself to a new set of new managers who are oblivious to the past.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let the new management know of the skills and strengths of the people who really make things work in the company and who have held fort in the thick and thin of things,

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    Approves of CEO
