I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Pretty laid back. Direct Managers are fair to their employees. Good benefits.

Cons

Some verbal employee recognition on jobs well done, but very little financial recognition. The Working from Home benefit has been revoked by Upper Management and this has blown up in their face.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let your employees be more productive by Working from Home. Saves time and money for employee and is quite motivating in a very faced paced industry.

    Pros

    The company is working on doing great things in technology. There is so much happening here.

    Cons

    Moving around internally is a matter of who you know. It's pointless to apply for a position if you don't know the hiring manager. They would rather go external.

    Pay attention to your internal applicants. When they apply for a job they deserve your attention.

    Pros

    Great people (individual contributors) to work with in just about any organization.

    Cons

    Sr. Level management doesn't have a clue what they need to do with their own global IT infrastructure to improve everything. We acquire companies but NEVER fully integrate any of them therefore the infrastructure and the ability to change or quickly roll out improvements or new solutions is near impossible.

    The Executive's solutions to making the numbers are to lay off people. They can't implement improvements, they just lay off to make the numbers look good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    LISTEN to your employees. Lay off the dead weight in upper management before the people who are doing all the work.
