I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

If you're self-motivated, this is a great Company to learn different technologies. Training details are available all over the intranet. Plenty of talented people with willingness to guide you in need. Contrary to market perception, current HP is a lean and efficient organization.

    Cons

Constant re-org and more focus on developing talent in Texas, India, Singapore, Malaysia and Mexico resources will frustrate you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand that the world is global and don't be pennywise and pound foolish. Fantastic resources can be hired in bay area and your focus on cheaper regions will hurt you longer term.

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Generally the people are great. The benefits are good.

    Cons

There is no clear plan to develop or promote internal talent.
The culture is too process oriented which sometimes overrides customer satisfaction.
Get all your money up-front, because raises or salary increases are almost non-existent.
Increased responsibilities do not translate into increased compensation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to at least give the appearance that you care.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
