Pros

Legendary company, legendary founders, and if you get to work with the original blue employees - you actually get a glimpse of the original HP.

Cons

It's now more about shareholder value than employees. Employees are getting burned out at the increased workload (from layoffs), psychological impact of losing colleages (from layoffs), years of pay freeze, and lack of promotional opportunities.

Advice to Management

Stop paying lip service to VoW results.

    Pros

    It was a great company. It still has many great people at lower levels.

    Cons

    An environment of fear, anger, reprisal.

    Advice to Management

    Providing massive rewards to your top 10% and crumbs to the rest is not viable in the long-term. But, you're not in it for the long-term, are you?

    Pros

    None, other than being able to say you are still employed and getting some kind of paycheck in today's job market.

    Cons

    Daily stress of wondering when your number is up, and everyone's number will be up sooner or later. No job security at all! U.S. employees are just a commodity to be replaced at a 1 to 3 ratio with off-shore.

    Advice to Management

    They need to recognize the employees first before being able to take advise from them. They're too busy looking at stock prices for selling their options.
