Former Employee – worked at Hewlett-Packard
Pros – The people I worked with were great. I enjoyed my job but the deadlines imposed were not conducive to work life balance. There is opportunity for job growth if you want to spend more time at work and less time with your family.
Cons – As I mentioned above, project deadlines were set without understanding the scope of the project or the number or resources available. You ultimately ended up cramming for quite some tome to meet the various deadlines and milestones.
Employees do not seem to be valued. If you did a great job you entire career at HP they will get rid of you in a heartbeat without seeing if you could fit in within another department or group.
The Voice of the Workplace survey is a joke. It's seems like it's simply done to satisfy some requirement and not to use the information to make HP a better place to work at.
Most employees took a pay cut and we never got it back while upper management received large bonuses.
Advice to Senior Management – Value your people. Treat them with respect and you in return will receive respect.
