Pros

There is a wide variety of different technologies that we are able to use and experience that help us to expand our knowledge in the IT industry. There are many extremely knowledgeable people employed by HP that are excellent resources and give a definite advantage to the clients.

Cons

Salaries are not fairly handled when an existing company is acquired by HP. Many employees of 20+ years had their salaries cut in half after the EDS acquisition. A large number of people are currently paid at least 20% below the current market salary for their jobs.

Advice to Management

Taking care of the employees should be top priority. When employees are happy, they are productive. If you want to pull the company out of a recession, you have to pay the employees what they are worth.

    Pros

Cool hardware and technology to work/play with before it is available to the public.
Good location for easy drive to and from work.

    Cons

no raises, reduced pay for the last 5 years, little bonus, always taking something away and never giving back, always fearing a layoff.

    Advice to Management

Manage the people as an asset not a piece of hardware to abuse then dispose of at will. The People of HP really care about their work so show them some respect

    Pros

Great peers and HP does give you a great work/home balance. Working from home was never a problem. Medical, dental and vision benefits are pretty good.

    Cons

No bonus structure to speak of. Very little chance of promotion or raises. Absolutely no feedback od performance. Can be very frustrating.

    Advice to Management

Stop sending jobs overseas and start giving adequete compensation. It will payoff if you sell HP as the company who hires locally.
