Pros

Work life balance or flexibility
Only good for those who look for a cushioned life and can sacrifice pay/growth

Cons

Salary cut, salary freeze and employee reduction are the primary steps for cost cutting
Doesn't matter how hard/god you work, if you don't get Visibility, you are gone
Very slow growth, almost stagnation
One has to pay a great cost for those flexibility
Bureaucratic work environment create uncertainty

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advise: They don't care. They are busy making their points and money.

    Pros

    There are many business units and groups to post to when you get bored and or tired with any one group.

    Cons

    Compensation is horrible - especially when it comes to raises and bonuses. The ex-Compaq managers bring with them the Compaq culture, which is very very far from the HP Way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Fire all your incompetent middle managers who drive your people up the wall. Overhaul your employee long service award program - it's currently only a piece of paper printed using an HP printer (even a free ream of paper is worth more!)
