I worked at Highland Hospital (Rochester) as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Open-minded professionals who were easy to work with, and welcomed new ideas! Only reason why I am no longer there was the commute, and I couldn't move to Rochester. I would return in a moment if the opportunity presented itself.

    Cons

May want to consider more virtual positions, can use brains from outside of your geographical region! Keep up the outside of the box thinking...

Great hospital in itself. However, My immediate manager gives the establishment a bad rep.

I worked at Highland Hospital (Rochester) full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent patient care. Professional growth is encouraged on a unit level.

    Cons

Speaking from a personal point of view and experience, if you cannot and will not carry news to the manager's office, you will find yourself in her bad book to the point of some nurses getting fired without a valid reason. management is never visible to learn anything about her staff, rather depend on information gathered from chosen few. management despise suggestions from staff then in the end roll out the plan as her own.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more visible on the unit and not only listen to your favorites.
