    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Work/Life balance activities available, Wellness Center, On site clinic,

    Cons

Very unstable, I've worked here 5 years and my area has been re-orged 5 times in those 5 years, the areas are not given time to become stable and effective/efficent before an executive or senior management decides its time for a change

    Advice to Management

Pick a plan and stick with it, allow it time to work before changing gears, this goes for management structure as well as technical solution and software packages.

    Pros

HIGHMARK OFFERS MANY OPPORTUNTIES FOR THEIR EMPLOYEES. FOR EXAMPLE, THERE ARE AN UNLIMITED LIST OF CLASSES YOU CAN TAKE EITHER ON LINE OR IN CLASSROOM, YOU CAN SELECT WHAT LEVEL OF BENEFITS YOU WANT,

    Cons

THERE IS A MAJOR GAP IN COMMUNICATION BETWEEN MANAGEMENT AND THE EMPLOYEES. MANAGEMENT HAS DEVELOPED A HABIT OF NOT PASSING ON PERTINT INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYEES TO CONDUCT THEIR JOBS. THEY DO NOT ALL PROMOTE BASED ON SKILLS AND ABILITIES. MANY PROMOTE BASED STRICTLY ON THEIR GRADE LEVELREGARDLESS OF THEIR COMPETENCY. THEY WILL USE INTIMADATION AND SCARE TATICS TO GET PEOPLE TO FOLLOW NEW RULES AND REGUATIONS TO THE POINT ERRORS AND EXTRA UNNECESSARY WORK IS DONE. THEY DO NOT APPROVE OF CHANGE FROM THE OUTSIDE. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY AND THAT IS THE HIGHMARK WAY. THEY HAVE LOST THEIR FOCUS ON THEIR CUSTOMERS.

    Advice to Management

GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER , STEP BACK AND TAKE A REAL GOOD HARD LOOK AT YOURSELF BEFORE YOU LOOK AT ANYONE ELSE. REMEMBER WHY THE COMPANY IS HERE AND REMEMBER WHAT "EVERY HAND COUNTS" REALLY STANDS FOR. YOU CAN NOT RUN THE COMPANY BY YOURSELVES BUT THE WAY YOU ARE GOING YOU WILL BE.
