Pros

* Great work life balance
* Culture that respects employees
* Great pay, especially for the cost of living in the area
* Global career opportunities
* Diverse wofkforce
* Company has a real mission beyond pure profits

Cons

* Bad economy and business environment has put a lot of cost pressure on the business
* Marketing especially seems to have suffered
* In trying to change to e more successful in the future, the growing pains have been very tough
* This was a great place to work, and likely will be again, but it is a tough time there right now.

Advice to Management

I think management is relooking at the fundamentals of the business, which at a time like this they should be doing.
Don't abandon all the things that make Hill's special, they are what defines the brand and in many ways can bring a return to better times.

    Pros

    Has become a very political place to work, someone who is good at managing up could do very well there.

    Cons

    Company in major decline. Senior management all new within the past 2 years, very inexperienced. 8+ individuals in marketing (30 person department) have left within 6 months with almost everyone else looking to leave. If you interview with Hill's, ask why the position is open.

    Advice to Management

    Recognize the decline in the business and morale and make an actual effort to reverse it.
    At some point you need to stop asking questions and make some decisions.
    Neil - Most people believe you're a good man, hopefully you see what your new management team has done to the company and will do something about it. Try to return the organization to the "Randy days".

    Pros

    Pay is higher because they have to make it attractive for you to come work in Topeka!

    Cons

    Good ol boy mentality reigns supreme here. You are either in the clique or your chances for career advancement is nil.

    Advice to Management

    Inject some young turks into your upper management cadre and retire all these spent forces that have spent all their working life in the company
