The division I was in managed the hotels and either didn't have a clue as to what service and hospitality is or just didn't care. It was all numbers and seeing how much they could cut...and cut...and cut. It's sad because I saw a lot of very good and very dedicated people come and go because they couldn't provide the service and warmth to the guests because of understaffing/overworking/no corporate support.

Advice to Senior Management

It's the hospitality business. I know that it's a business, but it's also about making people feel welcomed and employees feel like the company actually believes the rhetoric they spout about guest service.
