I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time (more than an year)

Pros

The benefits are good (401k, insurance, PTO, employee rate rooms), with a company this large there is (needed) structure, room for internal growth and movement all over the world

Cons

Upper management at the property doesn't enforce that all employees do their job, I have worked crazy hours picking other people's slack. Several employees just waiting to retire when they are already burned out. For the amount of business, this hotel does not have enough employees. Everyone wears several hats, expect to do above and beyond your original job description.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold employees accountable and have an idea of what your employees actually do day to day.

    Pros

    The other employees are fun to work with.

    Cons

    This company sends surveys to customers - and counts any rating of 8 (out of 10) or below as a ZERO. They get very upset at low scores but at the same time admit that many customers give a 7 or 8 but also say "everything was great".

    There is no training program whatsoever. Other employees (who were not formally trained) train the new employees. Frequently managers will point out something that was done wrong - something that the employees had no clue was wrong.

    You constantly say "when you care, it shows": We say the same thing to you.
