I worked at Hoag Memorial Hospital full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Pay rate is at par with other big hospital, medical equipment always updated, very clean and well maintained facilities

    Cons

No real appreciation to their employees ( lay off lots of senior nurses ) favoritism too common, all about PROFITS and QUANTITY forget the QUALITY

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Transparency to employees, dont RUSH the flow of patients, just to earn more because patient and staff are all feeling RUSHED to the point of SAFETY becomes questionable!

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

Great place to get intern experience.

I worked at Hoag Memorial Hospital as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly staff that are willing to teach students who want a career in healthcare. Also, can schedule as many extra hours as possible after everyone has had a first go; early "graduation" is possible in less than one year.

    Cons

Staff refers to interns as "green shirts", never calls an intern by name. It's an unpaid internship, and sometimes it can feel like some staff members take advantage of it.
