Pros

Great employees outside of IT

Cons

Cronyism by the director of IT bringing his family and friends to management positions at hekpdesk who have no clue. for a new hire, you'll work odd hours including every weekend, every holiday and late night shift, while seniors take the weekends and holidays off

I worked at Hoag Memorial Hospital as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

I loved working with the health care team and patients. There was so much to learn on each floor that I volunteered.

    Cons

Sometimes there was a lot to do, but we were restricted to working 4 hour shifts in a day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase the time offered to interns if you can. Also if possible, please reopen the surgical floors for Clinical Care Extenders.

Great place to get intern experience.

I worked at Hoag Memorial Hospital as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Friendly staff that are willing to teach students who want a career in healthcare. Also, can schedule as many extra hours as possible after everyone has had a first go; early "graduation" is possible in less than one year.

    Cons

Staff refers to interns as "green shirts", never calls an intern by name. It's an unpaid internship, and sometimes it can feel like some staff members take advantage of it.
