Positive Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I worked at Hobsons full-time (More than a year)

Pros

many incentives such as vouchers or team outings for meeting or exceeding your own or the group's KPIs, nice, rather relaxed atmosphere, expanding business so new positions were being created which tend to get filled internally in the first instance

Cons

rather low pay compared to working for example for universities directly, Operations Managers have to be constantly pestered regarding pay reviews, the incentives such as weekly vouchers for exceeding KPIs were suddenly scrapped after a year and not replaced with anything else despite promises from management whilst the KPIs increased during the same period

Advice to Management

should take greater care not to lose some of their best staff who often go off to work for the company's competitors directly i.e. the universities. also should invest more time in client retention as they have lost quite a number of contracts recently.

    Approves of CEO

    I worked at Hobsons part-time

    Pros

The top management is passionate about the industry Has good technical skills to understand the gravity of implementing a solution

    Cons

Engineering director is just a "talking" guy. Uses all his management tatics and survives by creating tension between employees Creates the "virtual" carrot and assumes employees to fall for that (Not sustainable dude)

    Advice to Management

If you are in engineering, you need to do some real work, not just use your "marketing" and rhetoric language tactics

    Disapproves of CEO

    I worked at Hobsons full-time

    Pros

Nice office space, good natural light Good portion of workforce in 30's No red tape to get things done Lots of cutting edge technology, also a wide variety

    Cons

Not all that great of a place to start. Anti .NET among leadership. Very spammy Understaffed in Engineering dept (at least in Cincinnati anyway). Bloated in some of the others. Even though their primary revenue stream is software the CEO designated the corporate marketing dept as the backbone of the organization.

    Advice to Management

    Create a CTO role.
