I worked at Holcim full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Very good employer that gives ample opportunity to grow within the organization nationally and internationally. If one has an international job function the travelling is extensive.

Cons

During the last major economic crisis (2009) the number of employees with a lot of relevant experience "released" was far in excess of what was necessary.

Former Employee - Business Unit Manager in Brisbane (Australia)

I worked at Holcim full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Loyal and decent to employees. Have reasonable development programs although they are somewhat erratically applied. A gorwing company at an exciting point in the industry,

    Cons

Somewhat inflexible on career path. Do expect you to live and breath the job - at their infancy in work life balance. Can be very slow with new inititives - frustrating for an innovator.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at how to best use people rather than fill vacancies. Support innovation with more flexible approaches.
