I have been working at Holiday Retirement full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

Wonderful residents, large company with industry stability

Cons

A lot of management turnover. Not enough consideration given to hourly employees who work directly with residents.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Poll, commumicate with and listen to those employees who have been with the company for more than 5 years. We have a lot of perspective to share.

    Pros

    The residents, TEAM, and the diverse multi tasking... sales/entertainement/mother hen/cheerleader/nursemate.... OUR Community!

    Cons

    The endless conference calls beating up the ground level TEAMS.... WE all know SALES is top priority... gvie us credit for what we do DAILY ! 24/7... You must be prepared for the comited LIFESTYLE.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Jack touch base with each community ... MD/RD spend 3 days each month at a community .. not just a phone call. CAN BE A very DYNAMIC organization with taking care of your troops!

    I worked at Holiday Retirement full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Residents humor and life stories.

    Cons

    Lead Managers make decision without input for other team members. Managers have to dress professional and be ready to serve food, unclog toilets, clean up blood, vomit or diaper spills, Telemarketing means making early morning and late evening calls. . Free meals are the left over after the residents have finished. Express training then no follow up. Rent hikes create a high turn over with Residents.

    Work one day a year work as a manager.
