I have been working at Holiday Retirement full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Making a difference in the life of seniors and their families, it really is rewarding,

    Cons

I can only speak from several years experience in the midwest, the toxic culture in most of the regions comes from the director and he's incredibly good at micromanaging and running people into the ground. I've watched alot of good people get burned out, thrown away or run off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Time for new leadership at the top in the Midwest, employees are beaten down.

Holiday was the worst company that either of us ever worked for, by far.

I worked at Holiday Retirement full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

None. There are other companies out there that really do believe in their mission statements.

    Cons

Residents who can't get their maintenance concerns taken care of for months at a time due to "spending Freezes". Exterior lighting left without being repaired mainly due to the cost of high pressure sodium light bulbs. One resident had a broken window for 6 months due to refusal to spend the money on a replacement. Managers not allowed to turn units completely until they were leased, due to spending restrictions, but they still had their feet held to the fire over occupancy issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please sell the company back to the Colsons.
