I worked at Holland full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Second shift hours are ok. The shift manager on seconds is cool.

    Cons

Third shift hours are horrible. And they'll stick you with a trainer that will freak out if you ask a question or do something wrong or not up to his standards. Dispatch is holed up in a small square office in the basement. if one person gets sick, the rest of the group gets sick because of poor ventilation and the absence of overall cleanliness.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are changes that need to be made in a bad way in the higher management of operations in Holland. Those changes should of been made before Rogers ever left to run YRC.

I have been working at Holland

    Pros

    *Paid every week.
    *Fair management.
    *Strong peer invovement and support.

    Cons

*At the mercy of the elements.
*Some of the dock workers are so lazy that if the union clowns did not protect them, they'd be homeless bums.
*Disconnect between what is expected and what can be achieved. If the freight has not even made it to the terminal by a certain time, there is no way that it can reasonably be expected to be routed to another terminal in a timely manner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

*Keep fighting the union - the organization - not the workers.
*Giving the workers a pat on the back when it is deserved never killed anyone.
